Free eBooks for All

The LRC Library is happy to announce that free eBooks and audiobooks are now available for all primary/elementary and secondary students and teachers to enjoy from the LRC Library website. To get started, simply read the instructions at the end of this post. You could be reading a brand new eBook- free of charge-  in less than a minute from your computer or your iPad!

We know that ISG Dhahran students love to read and that many students are already reading on personal devices. While secondary students have had access to Overdrive eBooks for the past couple of years, this brand new service to primary students allows access to a collection of picture and chapter books designed for their reading level, including the Harry Potter series and books by Dr. Seuss. Over the winter break, eBooks were especially popular with traveling students who were able to check in and return books from wherever they were in the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We still have, of course, over 35,000 print books in our library that students, teachers and parents may borrow. Whatever your reading preference, we welcome you to browse our electronic and print collections.

Reading books for enjoyment not only helps students improve their vocabulary and perform better in school, but it opens new worlds, builds empathy and sparks the imagination.

Instructions for Accessing Overdrive eBooks:

  2. Click on “Overdrive”.

  4. If you have problems signing in, send us an email or stop by the LRC Library and we will help you get started.

From all of us here in the LRC, Happy Reading!
